ShoreRivers State of the Rivers

Tracking water quality in the Corsica is an important first step for achieving cleaner water. Understanding the amount and trends of multiple scientific water quality parameters help us understand whether protection and restoration efforts have contributed to improvements and where more work is needed. For many years, first the Corsica River Conservancy and now ShoreRivers have collected samples and conducted testing for dissolved oxygen, algae, clarity and the pollutants nitrogen and phosphorus. The Chester Riverkeeper will present results of the most recent testing for the Chester and Corsica rivers on May 8th at the Garfield Center for the Arts in Chestertown. Doors open at 5:30pm for a reception of wine, beer, and light appetizers. The formal presentations will begin at 6pm. This event is free—no registration needed! Come and learn about the state of your waterway.
